Summer is finally here and so are the visitors! The month has started with the buzz of fun and sun seekers, so put yourself out there and show off what’s great about your business. This is the season to document your processes, people and customer experiences. Pull back the curtain on your business and allow your audience to see behind the scenes and the value that you bring to your customer’s lives.
Creating content on a consistent basis is about adopting new habits. Content opportunities can be found everywhere if you make identifying them a priority. Get into the habit of spotting the opportunities and capturing the moments that matter.
What to Post on Social Media in June – content themes

Sign up here then print it off and decide which dates, events and awareness days are relevant to your business, location and brand values. You can also find our calendar plus other free social media resources in our free Facebook group here.
Father’s Day – Think about the products and services you could promote in the run up to Father’s Day. Perhaps you could package up some services or create a special gift set from a product range? Are there any complimentary businesses that you could team up with to co-promote an offer or giveaway. A voucher for an activity and a meal, or a skincare and drinks hamper? Be creative and collaborate with others to maximise your offer.
Evironmental Issues– June sees #WorldEnvironmentDay, #WorldOceansDay, #CleanAirDay and the G7 Summit in Cornwall. Environmental issues will be high on the agenda so join the conversation, spread awareness and take action!
World Environment Day – This year, the messaging is ‘This World Environment Day, join #GenerationRestoration to revive and protect our ecosystems.’ Think about how you can talk about your environmental policies, local initatives and passion for protecting the planet. If you’re implementing new initiatives to cut plastic then share how it’s going. We love the new scheme by Dick Pearce offering free wooden bellyboard rentals as a positive alternative to cheap, environmentally-toxic polystyrene bodyboards that are so often discarded on beaches in the South West. Check out Wood For Good here.
World Oceans Day – This is a great opportunity for those of us living in coastal areas to spread the message about protecting our oceans. The website has a social media toolkit with graphics and captions or take your own images of your favourite ocean view and explain why it’s so important to protect it. Consider and scheme to encourage the return of plastic items, sustainable alternatives or quick beach cleans. Our top tip is to Organise or join a beach clean near you via Surfers Against Sewage’s Million Mile Beach Clean. This brilliant initiative is bringing communities together to clean up our beaches through out the year. Find out more here. #MillionMileBeachClean
Clean Air Day – An important initiative highlighting the dangers of air polution. Fresh sea air, coastal walks and county rambles are part of the allure of Cornwall. Highlight the opportunites to walk, cycle or use public transport to get around. A good opportunity for bike hire and walking tours.
Celebrating Summer – The weather has finally improved and the summer solstice is coming! It’s a good time to think about the themes of the season and the expertise that you can share with your audience. This could include travel tips, activities and safety advice, Or a seasonal recipe. Sharing tips and tutorials helps to position you as the expert in your field, and genuinely helpful content is more likely to be shared than overly promotional posts. Those inspirational posts should be easy to create this month – head out with your phone or camera and capture the beauty around you.
