What can you post on Social Media in February? Let’s address the elephant in the room, shall we… Lockdown restrictions mean that we just don’t have the visitors at the moment. Heck, you may not even be able to open your business right now. So, what’s the point in planning your social media marketing? The answer, of course, is because you can’t afford not to.

Having no plan for what to post on Social Media in February means you will not be communicating with potential and existing customers effectively, and you’ll waste time and opportunities to promote your business. Staying consistent with your social media and digital marketing will put you in a much stronger position to survive and even thrive during this challenging time.

So, let’s get started…

What product and services are you/can you offer right now? Think about what your customers need most. What are they struggling with? What are they longing for? How can you meet their needs? When you have this figured out you can focus on the outcomes for your customers when you are writing your content, which is a far more persuasive tactic than simply stating ‘we’re doing this…’

Social Media in February – Content Themes

February is the month of the first signs of spring, gorging on pancakes and getting romantic! In fact, there is so much on the calendar to inspire your content this month. Get your content calendar printed out and circle all the key dates.

Which dates, events and awareness days would be relevant for you to build a promotion around?

Which ones can you offer some of your expertise on? Creating a romantic homely space on Valentine’s Day? Recommend a romantic walk? A brunch or cocktail recipe? Have you got a fail safe pancake recipe or delicious topping combination? Maybe a fun activity for kids if families are your target audience. We would usually have a half term this month but with children homeschooling, parents need even more help and advice to keep them entertained.

What personal (but appropriate and relevant) stories can you tell around Groundhog Day – (c’mon, everyone is living in groundhog day right now!) Random Acts of Kindness Day or Drink Wine Day? Bonus points for making it funny.

Get out and do a beach clean on Love Your Beach Day to show your passion for ocean conservation. World Whale Day happens this month too and we’ve had lots of whale and dolphin sightings in Cornwall recently. Even if people can’t travel at the moment, remind them what they’re missing and what you care about.

Don’t forget to research the correct hashtags on Twitter and Instagram and get some ideas.

There are so many ideas about what to post on Social Media in February, so get your creative thinking caps on, get stuck into planning, and roll on Drink Wine Day!
